Manufacturing Foundations: NC programming, post-processor development, fixture design, and NC verification and simulation.

Shop-floor insight.
Practical machining preparation.

Approximately 13 years of metalworking experience applied to NC programming, machining preparation, and verification. Inquiries by email; project files via our designated transfer service.

Technical support centered on NC programming

NC programming is our primary service. We can combine the work required for a project, while fixture design, NC verification, and SprutCAM X postprocessor and machine-kinematics development may also be requested individually.

01

NC Programming and
Machining Data

Our primary service: machining processes, toolpaths, and NC programs prepared after reviewing the part, stock, fixture, tooling, and machine specifications.

02

Post-Processor
Development

For SprutCAM X only, we develop or adjust the target-machine kinematics and postprocessor as one system. This work may also be requested on its own.

高送りとトロコイドの荒加工を、CIMCOのシミュレーションで比べています。

High-feed and trochoidal roughing are compared in a CIMCO simulation.

同時5軸の工具軸と干渉回避を、SprutCAMのシミュレーションで確認しています。

Simultaneous 5-axis tool axis and collision avoidance are checked in a SprutCAM simulation.

03

Machining Fixture Design

Fixture concepts and designs considering location, clamping, tool access, interference, and the machining process. Fixture design may be requested on its own.

04

NC Program Verification
and Simulation

Checks of actual output NC for tool motion, material removal, interference, coordinate systems, and rotary-axis orientation. NC verification may be requested on its own.

SprutCAMのポスト出力を、CIMCOのマシンシミュレーションで確認しています。

Posted NC from SprutCAM is checked in a CIMCO machine simulation.

For NC programming, the required output format is confirmed in the inquiry. If the NC format needs adjustment, or the output must follow a machine specification or an internal rule, please say so in that email.

One email desk for machining engineering support.

NC programming is the primary service. Email the result you need, the problem you face, the target equipment, and what is currently known.

If you require fixture design only, NC verification only, or SprutCAM X postprocessor and machine-kinematics development only, please say so. After reviewing the email, we define and quote the required work, deliverables, and verification scope.

What the reply covers

The reply tells you whether the request can be accepted, which materials are needed, how the work could proceed, and whether a quotation will be prepared. That reply is not an order. Detailed review of drawings or NC data, design, CAM, and verification are quoted separately, after the scope is defined. There is no consultation product, and no meeting, telephone, or web-meeting slot.

Reducing risk before
machine operation.

Simulation is intended to reduce risk. It does not unconditionally guarantee machine behavior or machining results and is not a substitute for progressive verification on the target machine.

Primary working environments are separated by role: Autodesk Fusion for CAD; SprutCAM X for CAM and post output; and CIMCO Edit/CIMCO Machine Simulation for verification of the posted NC. Required capabilities and data compatibility are reviewed for each project.

CIMCO verification results are provided as a CIMCO Simulation Bundle with a verification record. The Bundle is a standalone application that lets customers verify the supplied NC under the included simulation conditions without owning a CIMCO license. The target NC, conditions, and operating environment are confirmed for each project.

Experience planning the process and bringing it into production.

Yutaka Higuchi | CAD/CAM Programmer

Approximately 13 years at a metalworking company in Ehime, Japan, covering process planning through production startup for assigned machines and parts.

The setup operator’s perspective, reflected in machining data.

Tool access, workholding, chip evacuation, and machining distortion: experience addressing these issues on real machines informs how we consider the process, fixtures, and toolpaths together. We aim to reflect the needs of the people setting up and checking the job in the machining data and setup documentation.

From process and fixture design to production startup

Responsibilities included CAM programming, fixture design, procurement of required materials and components, assembly, and adjustment. Experience spans new-product startup for one-off parts through medium- and large-scale production.

5-axis machining and a broad range of materials

Hands-on experience with 3-axis, indexed 4- and 5-axis, and simultaneous 5-axis machining, cutting steel, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and aluminum, and planning processes around material behavior and workholding.

Addressing distortion and machining stability

Work on aluminum forgings included process planning, fixture design, and CAM programming with attention to machining distortion. Other improvement work included reducing roughing time by switching to trochoidal machining and addressing chip evacuation and machining stability to achieve stable unattended overnight operation.

Main software used during that employment: Autodesk Fusion, GibbsCAM, and VERICUT.

These are the representative's responsibilities and experience in previous employment, not projects commissioned from Manufacturing Foundations. Current services cover machining preparation, data creation, and verification, with requirements reviewed by email and project files exchanged through our designated file-transfer service. On-site machine operation and attendance are not included. The current software environment differs from that used in previous employment.

Manufacturing Foundations is a sole proprietorship based in Matsuyama, Ehime, Japan.
